On Saturday, August 21, from 2 to 4 PM, I will be signing and selling copies of my cookbook Vineyard to Table Cooking with Kentucky Wine. This book gives you the history of food and wine, tips on cooking with wine, and other wine and food related information. I would love to meet you and talk about cooking with wine.
Hope to see you there!
Chrisman Mill Vineyards and Winery is the oldest operating winery in the state of Kentucky. Chris and Denise Nelson have created a winery that has grown and stood the test of time, remaining one of the best and most popular wineries in the state. They have expanded and are now a winery, a distillery, and a restaurant. You will want to plan a visit.
The winery is open now on Saturdays. Try their wine, their spirits, and their food. Pizza and tacos are available almost every Saturday. There are three Saturdays when they will be serving a full Fuego dinner. Check my link to their winery for information.
The pizza and tacos are amazing. Their wines are the great wines that everyone has come to expect. Hummingbird Distillery is now making rum, made from blackstrap molasses, a grape brandy, and a grappa. You won’t want to miss trying these or one of their cocktails. If you are able to get to one of the dinners at Fuego, you will want to go back again and again.
Brianza Gardens and Winery is a beautiful, relaxing place to spend an afternoon and evening. There is great wine, friendly service, and snacks. On weekends you can enjoy music and food trucks. Check their website for events.
We were able to return to one of our favorite places to visit at the end of July and visit the Charlottesville area of Virginia for the first time since 2019. We spent four nights in a cabin at Afton Mountain Vineyards. While there we visited wineries: DelFosse Vineyards, Gabriele Rausse Winery, Flying Fox Winery, Ox-Eye Vineyards , Barren Ridge Vineyards, Chestnut Oak Vineyard, Afton Mountain Vineyards, Well Hung Vineyards and Barboursville Vineyards. Virginia has many cideries now and we visited two excellent ones: Bold Rock Hard Cider and Ciders from Mars. Check out Favorite photos for a selection of some great views from these Virginia sites.

Vineyard to Table Cooking with Kentucky Wine will be released in August. My first local book signing will be at Brianza Gardens and Winery in Boone County on August 21, from 2 to 4 PM. If you’ve ever thought about cooking with wine and would like to give it a try, this might be the book for you. It would be great to meet and discuss my book with you. Hope to see you there!
Join me at Brianza, one of the top wineries in the State of Kentucky. Wine lovers will find an excellent wine there that will make you smile, no matter what wines your love.
Releasing a new book seemed like a good time to make some changes to the blog. Not only are the color schemes different, but so is some of the content. For those of you who are used to my site, you’ll notice that the background photo and the color logos have changed. I’ve been at this long enough that the archives have grown. The old posts are still there, just stored by year. The Wine Lover reintroduced herself, the favorite photos and links have been up-dated. Faye’s books will soon have both books linked to the publisher where they can be purchased directly.
Hope you enjoy this new facelift. Now that the changes have been made, I have some new blogs that I’ll be posting. Come back, visit, and follow http://kentuckywinelover.com

I’m really pleased with the final results. 69 original recipes, informative chapters on the history of wine and food, tips for cooking and choosing wines, health benefits, cooking healthy and lots of photos.
by adminWhile staying in Kentucky, we wanted to get away for a couple of days to celebrate our anniversary. As wine lovers we decided to visit a winery and looked for a place to go. Their website says eat, taste, and stay. and Farmer and Frenchman Winery lives up to that billing. We spent two nights in a cabin at Farmer and Frenchman Winery, had a pizza from room service one evening and an exceptional meal at the restaurant the other evening as well as an appetizer and glass of wine on our arrival.
This is a relatively new winery in the state, but is a really good addition to our state’s wineries. While everything was nice, the best part of the trip was the excellent and friendly service. Everyone there went out of the way to make our visit a good one. Just outside of Henderson, Farmer and Frenchman is a great place to visit.

A couple of weeks ago, on a Saturday evening, we saw Rucca performing at Brianza Gardens and Winery. Their performances are always a lot of fun, but the outdoor venue at Brianza adds an extra enjoyment to their concert. Brianza provides an excellent outdoor stage. There’s music every weekend.
