    • Oct 2ndJoseph Beth Booksellers Crestview Hills

On October 9th, at 7 PM, I will be signing and discussing A Wine Lover’s Odyssey Across Kentucky.  Since this is my local bookstore, I’m looking forward to seeing some old friends and meeting some new wine lovers as well.

If you’ve not visited the Joseph Beth at the Crestview Hills Town Center since it opened at the new Borders location, you should really make a visit. The bookstore has continued the tradition of other Joseph Beth stores, being a great place to find a book, a magazine, or a gift item, relax, or meet friends.

Hope to see you at the signing.

    • Sep 28thJoseph Beth Booksellers in Lexington

On October 3, I will be signing and discussing A Wine Lover’s Odyssey Across Kentucky, at the Lexington Joseph Beth. There will be a Kentucky wine tasting and cheese event in the Bronte Bistro at 6 PM, followed by the signing at 7 PM.

I am especially excited about the signing because this has been a favorite store of mine since it opened twenty-five years ago. I’ve planned shopping trips so that I could visit Joseph Beth. When we stay in Lexington, we’ve often chosen the Hilton at Lexington Green because you can walk to the bookstore. I went to two signings at Joseph Beth over the years that were exceptional experiences. I was able to meet John Ed Pearce and talk to him about his book, The Feuds of Eastern Kentucky, and was also able to meet Jimmy Carter when he signed The Hornet’s Nest.

I would love to see you there.

    • Sep 7thA book signing at Springhill Winery

On Friday, September 14th, I’ll be at Springhill Winery in Bloomfield, Kentucky. The winery is located just off the Bluegrass Parkway. Many visitors will be traveling that highway next weekend to attend the Bourbon Festival in Bardstown. For those who want to try another of Kentucky’s award winning beverages, stop by at Springhill Winery. I’d love to meet you and share my book with you.

    • Jul 17thA Wine Lover’s Odyssey Across Kentucky is now available

Faye’s Wine Book page will take you to a link to Butler Books where you can purchase A Wine Lover’s Odyssey Across Kentucky. It is (or will be) available at local bookstores, wineries, and from the on-line book sites, such as Barnes and Noble, Joseph Beth, and Amazon.

I asked Eddie O’Daniel at Springhill Winery and Plantation B & B to read excerts from the book and give a review. He said,  “I think this is a great, easy read that pops the cork on the history of Kentucky’s wine heritage and pours the reader a tantalizing taste of Kentucky’s wineries for a memorable experience!

I really like the easy flowing style and the revealing details you have discovered to share with the readers.”

I’m quite pleased with the way the book has turned out. Here’s the front cover. I hope you like it!

    • Jul 3rdMy Kentucky Wine Book

A Wine Lover’s Odyssey Across Kentucky should be available within a month. It is at the printers now. I wanted to give you a preview of what to expect. With lots of photos, the book takes readers on a tour of thirty-four of Kentucky’s wineries. These were the wineries with tasting rooms and regular hours at the time that I was writing. For nine months, my husband and I traveled across the state.  With only two overnight stays and fourteen day trips, we were able to visit and tour the wineries, interview the owners or wine makers, and taste the wine.

The book gives a brief history of wine, a discussion of wine tasting and a description of the grapes grown in Kentucky’s vineyards. Readers will also find a map of Kentucky with the wineries marked, a glossary of wine terms, a list of grape varieties in the state, and a winery directory.

I will let you know when the book is released. It will be available at bookstores and wineries, and through my blog with a link to the publisher. Subscribe now and an e-mail will let you know right away when it’s available.

    • Jun 10thA Book on Kentucky Wineries

It was two years ago this month when I woke up one morning and realized I had dreamed the beginning of a book about wine. I decided that I wanted to write it and started a book called A Wine Lover’s Odyssey Across Kentucky. Since then, I’ve been writing, researching, visiting wineries (yes, that means tasting wines), doing interviews, rewriting and taking photographs. I contacted a publisher and completed edits. Now I’m beginning to see the end. I have seen the designs. For the last month, I’ve been busy reviewing the book, and it is almost ready to go to the printer. My dream is almost a reality, and I should have some news soon.

    • Apr 15thAn Unexpected Spring

Spring is an excellent time to visit wineries. Hopefully, you’re getting out there and trying new wines. Most years in March and early April I would have a lot of winery visits to write about, but this year has been anything but normal. Since March 2, when the tornadoes tore through southern Kenton County, we’ve not had the time to get away for a winery trip.  We’ve been cleaning up and trying to put things back together.  We were luckier than many of our neighbors and our house just needs a roof and some minimal repairs, but we lost four barns on the family farm.

We are looking forward to this Friday; we are attending the first Tuscan dinner at Chrisman Mill Vineyard and Winery. We’ve been to several Tuscan dinners in past years, so I’m sure it will be great. I’ll let you know next week.

Hopefully, we will be able to get out and about in the near future. Also,I may soon have some news about my wine book, A Wine Lover’s Odyssey Across Kentucky.
